Phase I took place from September 2010 - June 2013
The Phase I Society 2030 Consortium was made up of academics from the University of Michigan and representatives from companies in a variety of industries. Researchers from various fields, including biomechanics, psychology, and business, made up the academic portion of the Consortium.
The University of Michigan and industry representatives, through the fertilization of ideas across various disciplines and industries, constructed a roadmap for the needs of Society 2030.
Companies in manufacturing, communications, and pharmaceuticals
were committed to the Consortium and participated in brainstorming sessions.

Worker and the Workplace
Graduate Student Research Competitions took place,
awarding students who conducted research that would positively impact our changing society.
